The AIBA Year of Africa began in Togo on Thursday, AIBA’s first such legacy project designed to help realise the continent’s enormous potential to produce the next generation of Olympic Boxing Champions. With education a central theme of the initiative, day one saw the Africa Zone II and III Regional Anti-Doping Organisation (RADO) host a conference that underlined the latest efforts to keep sport free of doping. Held at the Togo Olympic Committee headquarters, AIBA also invited representatives from several other of the country’s NFs to take part, with the likes of the National Athletics, Cycling and Swimming Federations also in attendance at the important opening-day event.
