The International Boxing Association Executive Committee voted in favour of holding AIBA Ordinary Congress on December 12-13, 2020. The decision was made this week by a mail vote with the majority.
Extraordinary Congress, scheduled for June 20, 2020, was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The main topic to discuss at the Ordinary Congress will include the topics, such as approval of accounts, reports by commissions, and two following additional items:
- adoption of the new AIBA Constitution;
- election of the AIBA President.
‘We hope that the sanitary situation will allow us to hold the AIBA Ordinary Congress in December,’ AIBA Interim President Dr. Mohamed Moustahsane claimed.
‘AIBA is actively working on reforms, not only the changes to the Statutes but is also reviewing the competition format and schedule’, he added.
