Following a meeting held on June 3^rd in Dubai, the AIBA EC Bureau approved to increase the boxers’ quotas for the 2018 AIBA Youth Men’s and Women’s World Boxing Championships which will be held in the city of Budapest, Hungary. The decision was made to accommodate the increasing interest expressed by the National Federations to take part of the Championships with the aim of developing the young generation of boxers.

Women’s Championships

The original quota for the women’s championships was 174. The new quota is now 200 with the increase of 26 which are allocated to each confederation to invite as follow:

• AFBC – increase from 18 to 21 with additional 3 quotas
• AMBC – increase from 32 to 47 with additional 5 quotas
• ASBC – increase from 52 to 60 with additional 8 quotas
• EUBC – increase from 52 to 60 with additional 8 quotas
• OCBC – increase from 10 to 12 with additional 2 quotas

Men’s Championships

The original quota for the men’s championships was 244. The new quota is now 300 with the increase of 56 which are allocated to each confederation to invite as follow:

• AFBC – increase from 38 to 48 with additional 10 quotas
• AMBC – increase from 50 to 62 with additional 12 quotas
• ASBC – increase from 65 to 71 with additional 16 quotas
• EUBC – increase from 70 to 86 with additional 16 quotas
• OCBC – increase from 10 to 12 with additional 2 quotas

The allocations of these additional quotas to the National Federations will be decided by each Confederation.
