World champion Rufat Riskiev to receive lifetime financial support on behalf of IBA President

One of the first World Champions in boxing, who earned his medal at the very first IBA World Boxing Championships in 1974 in Havana, Cuba, Olympic silver medallist in 1976, Soviet boxer Rufat Riskiev to receive lifetime financial support on behalf of International Boxing Association (IBA) President Umar Kremlev.

President Kremlev visited the 73-year-old boxer in a hospital today, wishing the Champion a speedy recovery. He gifted the 4-time USSR champion Riskiev a Champions belt and the Andrey Borzenko “Will to Win” trophy. During his outstanding career, Rufat Riskiev had 189 bouts where 174 times he was declared the winner.

‘We will take care of every member of our boxing family. You are a legend and one of the founders of the sport of boxing. Thanks to you, the younger generation is engaged in our beautiful sport. As IBA President, I see my mission in supporting and investing in boxing and each member of our huge family all around the world. Within IBA, we help our boxers a lot, including prize money awards. IBA is a Home of Boxing, we are one family,’ President Kremlev said.

Rufat Riskiev sincerely thanked President Kremlev.
