September 14th, 2025 / General

The International Boxing Association (IBA) is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton, one of the most beloved and iconic figures in the history of boxing.

Ricky Hatton MBE was more than a champion — he was a warrior, a showman, and a symbol of working-class pride. With a professional record of 45 wins (32 by knockout) and only 3 losses, Hatton captured the hearts of fans around the world with his relentless pressure style, thunderous body shots, and unwavering courage inside the ring.

A former two-weight world champion, Hatton’s legendary bouts against the likes of Kostya Tszyu, Floyd Mayweather Jr., and Manny Pacquiao defined an era of boxing and inspired a generation of fighters. His loyal fanbase, who followed him in their thousands across continents, is a testament to the love and respect he earned both in and out of the ring.

Beyond the ropes, Ricky was a fierce advocate for mental health awareness, bravely sharing his own struggles to help others find strength and support. His honesty, humor, and humility made him a true people’s champion.

IBA President Umar Kremlev and the entire boxing family extend their deepest condolences to Ricky’s family, friends, and fans. His legacy will live on in the hearts of millions and in the history of our sport.

Rest in peace, Champ. You will never be forgotten.
