May 28th, 2015 / All

AIBA will organize a Coaches Course in Oceania, with the help of the Oceania Boxing Confederation (OCBC) This course will provide an opportunity for the Coaches in Oceania to receive AIBA’s certification and hence the possibility to participate in the Pacific Games as well as in future AIBA Competitions. The course will take place from July 9 to 13 in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea just before the kick-off of the boxing competitions in the Pacific Games.

The OCBC President Mr Ted Tanner said: “I believe that Coaches are essential at every level of boxing and the success of the sport overall. Every Coach, from the Assistant Coach helping out in a local club to the National Coach, plays a vital role in developing and supporting boxers to reach their potential. It is extremely important that AIBA provides such opportunity for the Coaches in Oceania”.

This course is open to all level Coaches of the AIBA Member Federations in Oceania. National Federations willing to participate can contact the OCBC Office to register for the course by June 9, 2015 at ted.tanner@boxing.org.au.
