Around the Rings (ATR) has announced its annual Golden 25 list, which this year features AIBA President Dr Ching Kuo-Wu.

Dr Wu enters the list at number 24 on the eve of an important year for boxing that will boast a glittering Olympic competition and the consolidation of women’s boxing at Rio 2016, the AIBA Women’s World Championships in Almaty in May, an expanded World Series of Boxing Season VI and a plethora of exciting APB and highly anticipated Olympic Qualification Tournaments events. Also behind Dr Wu’s inclusion was his involvement in the rebuilding of international sports federations union SportAccord, ATR reported.

For the first time in their history, Readers’ Choice nominations were included in the awards, with Dr Wu collecting the highest number of votes ahead of a prestigious list that also included Olympic TV executive Yiannis Exarchos and Richard Pound, head of WADA’s Independent Commission.
