2011 AIBA World Boxing Championships silver medallist Jong Hun Shin of Korea has been named the Best Boxer in the Boxing Competition at the 17th Asian Games Incheon 2014 after his dominant gold medal victory in the Light Flyweight (49kg) category.

During a tournament which saw many great boxers in action, Korea’s superstar had produced consistently excellent results.

Jong Hun Shin did not drop a single round in the tournament, despite facing established names en route to the final.

The Korean boxer met with Kazakhstan’s defending AIBA World Champion Birzhan Zhakipov in the final in Incheon, and won all of the rounds in their entertaining contest, which gave the host nation their first gold medal of the tournament.

The 25-years-old star boxer who won the Chemistry Cup in Germany back in June is enjoying the best year of his boxing career as he joined AIBA Pro Boxing (APB), the new pro boxing tournament set up by AIBA which aims to match the best fighters in the world against each other.

As one of the greatest Light Flyweights currently competing, Jong Hun Shin will make his debut in APB on November 1st against the young Brazilian sensation Patrick Lourenco.
