IBA Champions’ Night comes to Ufa with a European title at stake for Subkhankulov and Chereji

On Saturday, Ufa is ready to welcome the next thrilling boxing event, as IBA Champions’ Night is coming to the home city of Artur Subkhankulov who will fight for the IBA Pro European Lightweight Champion title against James Chereji from Romania in an 8-round bout.

The winner of the headliner will become the first titleholder in this division. Chereji has featured at an IBA Champions’ Night previously, losing to Pavel Fedorov representing Serbia, in Serpukhov in August 2023.

The main card also consists of more exciting events featuring Pavel Sosulin from Russia against Ulugbek Sobirov from Tajikistan and Danis Gabdrafikov facing Bobo-Usmon Baturov from Uzbekistan at 67 kg.

Danis Gabdrafikov who is also originally from Ufa is coming back to the city to face a challenge to beat two-time Asian Championships gold medallist Bobo-Usmon Baturov from Uzbekistan at 67kg. Danis has remained undefeated in all his professional fights during three years of his professional career.

Four more exciting fights are scheduled in undercard. In the opening bout at 63.5kg, Seymur Isayev (12 wins – 0 losses) from Azerbaijan faces Gor Khachatryan (5-0) from Russia.  

Two super heavyweights, Kazakhstan’s Nursultan Amanzholov (6-1) and Bekkhan Israilov from Russia are to determine the strongest in the next fight of the night. For Israilov, this 6-round bout will be his pro debut.

Azizbek Abdugofurov from Uzbekistan, who has a solid record of 15-2 in professional boxing, will become a first-ever professional opponent of Russian boxer Leon Antonyan in the 76.2kg weight division.

Both Syrgak Abdyzhapar uulu from Kyrgyzstan and his rival Dmitry Zakharov will fight each other in their first-ever professional bout.
