IBA and Nomad Fighting unveil stacked card for IBA NOMAD 14 in Almaty

The International Boxing Association (IBA) and Nomad Fighting have officially launched the final countdown to IBA NOMAD 14, following a pre-fight press conference held in Almaty ahead of the April 11 event at Almaty Arena.

The tournament marks a key milestone in the strategic partnership between IBA and Nomad Fighting – a CIS-based promotion known for its hybrid format that blends traditional boxing fundamentals with the intensity of modern combat sports and entertainment-driven production.

Speaking at the press conference, IBA Pro Commercial Director Samvel Akopyan outlined the vision behind the collaboration:

“Under the guidance of IBA President Umar Kremlev and Secretary General Chris Roberts OBE, we are creating a unique product. IBA NOMAD 14 bridges traditional boxing values with next-generation entertainment, showing how the sport can evolve to engage a global, digital-first audience.”

The event will feature an international fight card with athletes representing Kazakhstan, Brazil, Russia, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan.

In the main event, Brazil’s Rosa Freire Lewandowski will face Kazakhstan’s Zhuman “Arlan” Zhumabekov in a clash of styles between two contrasting fighting approaches. The card also highlights notable returns, with former UFC fighter Zhalgas Zhumagulov set to compete on home soil, while Arman Ashimov is expected to make his long-awaited comeback to the ring.

A late change to the lineup was also confirmed: Ibragim “Nikarkho” Islamov and Sanzhar Tazhiyev mutually agreed to withdraw from their scheduled bout out of respect, opening the door for Kyrgyzstan’s Kalys Akylbaev to step in on the main card.

IBA NOMAD 14 will take place on April 11 at Almaty Arena, with the action starting at 17:00 local time (13:00 CET). The event will be streamed live on the official IBA YouTube channel.
