Grandelli dominates Romero; while Fedorov and Mironchikov sparkle on spectacular night of action in Turin

On a spectacular night of boxing in the picturesque city of Turin, two high-class displays by Russian duo Pavel Fedorov and Vladimir Mironhickov stole the show at the Palasport Gianni Asti.

The Torino Boxing Show event, the first in partnership with the International Boxing Association (IBA), showcased a stellar line-up of top level action, headlined by a destructive fifth round TKO victory by local favourite Francesco Grandelli to pick up the WBO Inter-Continental Featherweight title.

Kokhma super-lightweight star Fedorov (4-0, 2 KOs) made an eye-catching return to professional boxing after his recent appearance at the historic IBA 2025 Men’s World Boxing Championships in Dubai, becoming the first man to stop Italian opponent Jacopo Lusci (10-9-1) inside the distance with a blistering body assault in the fifth round.

Fedorov, who has primarily campaigned under the IBA Pro banner in recent years, was in fine form from the opening bell, dominating his rugged opponent and working him over in impressive fashion before a scything left-hook to the mid-section dropped Lusci and forced the referee to halt the contest at 2:25 of round number five.

Elsewhere on the card, unbeaten Serpukhov talent Mironchikov (7-0, 6 KOs) was too good for Albanian-born banger David Ferko (5-2, 5 KOs) in their six round super-middleweight clash, producing a clinical display en route to a brutal third round finish.

Mironchikov, who already boasts a win over former WBO World Middleweight title challenger Walter Kautondokwa in his seven fight professional career, set about his task with purpose and intent from the first round, pushing Ferko back behind a solid left jab and thudding right hand.

The 27-year-old would close the show in dramatic fashion in round three, backing Ferko into the corner before unleashing a vicious combination to head and body that sent his opponent to his knees. Though Ferko would bravely beat the count, Mironchikov was ruthless with his follow-up, chopping Ferko down once again with a series of heavy left-hooks to the body before the referee stepped in at 2:00 to hand the Russian puncher a sixth stoppage win.

The main event of the evening saw world-level featherweight campaigner Francesco Grandelli pick up the WBO Inter-Continental title with a one-sided drubbing of Spain’s Jose Romero.

Grandelli (21-4-2, 5 KOs), a two-time EBU European title challenger, scored three knockdowns in a blistering fourth-round onslaught, with Romero’s corner electing to spare their man from further punishment at the bell to begin the fifth – much to the joy of the raucous home crowd.

International Boxing Association (IBA) President, Umar Kremlev, whose dedication to expanding the global reach of the International Boxing Association shows no signs of slowing down, said of the event:
“We were happy to be part of the Torino Boxing Show and to witness such spectacular and competitive bouts. This celebration of boxing once again united our great boxing family. I congratulate the athletes on their well-deserved victories. IBA will continue to host events at the highest level and support the development of our sport around the world.”

IBA Pro Promoter and General Director, Al Siesta said: “What a spectacular evening of boxing in the beautiful city of Turin. Italy is a country known for its passionate sports fans and it was our pleasure for IBA to deliver an event packed with both international quality and some of the finest local talent. Both Fedorov and Mironchikov showed their class in producing dominant stoppage victories, while Francesco Grandelli showed the strength of Italian boxing for all to see. As an organisation, we cannot wait to return to Turin and deliver another show for the people – Viva l’Italia!”

With the Torino Boxing Show a resounding success, plans to drive the International Boxing Association (IBA) forward as a leader of worldwide boxing events remain a firm priority for the organisation. With no shortage of glamorous cities eager to play host to IBA events in the future, 2026 is shaping up to be another significant year for President Kremlev and the star-studded roster of IBA talent.
