AIBA Youth World Championships quarter-finalist Artur Prygoda defeated Kyrgyzstan’s defending Junior National Champion 16-year-old Argen Sherbekov, Ukraine’s Pavlo Gula and his compatriot, the AIBA Junior World Championships bronze medallist Myroslav Ishchenko in the final, and impressed hugely in all of his bouts.
Prygoda and Ishchenko are both great future hopes for Ukraine in the upcoming years.

The Ukrainian squad won all of the gold medals in Khmelnitskiy, beginning with EUBC European Junior Continental Championships silver medallist Oleg Chulyacheyev.
Vladyslav Zarichniy enjoyed success at Flyweight (52 kg) while Zavor Petrosyan won the Bantamweight class (56 kg), with Ievgen Lenkovskiy enjoying the same success at the Lightweight class (60 kg) in Khmelnitskiy.

Surprise of the tournament

AIBA Junior World Championships competitor Tereheria was the experienced boxer in their contest, but he failed to win the gold medal during their entertaining Welterweight battle.
One to watch
Ukraine’s Heavyweight class (91 kg) number one at youth level is Robert Marton, who was a gold medallist at the 2013 AIBA Junior World Boxing Championships in Kiev on home soil and achieved a bronze in the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships in Sofia last April.
Marton was dominant in this event, and excelled in his gold medal bout over Volodymyr Polyukhovich in Khmelnitskiy.

A total number of 105 boxers competed in the Evgen Kuzhelny Youth Tournament.
Five of the gold medallists were born in 1998, which means they will be able to fight at the 2016 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships which are to be scheduled in St. Petersburg, Russia after the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
