Continuous Professional Development (CPD) remains a key priority in IBA operations worldwide

The International Boxing Association (IBA) has always been committed to providing continuous professional development opportunities for its members by offering multi-module training programmes across diverse areas of boxing, including both amateur and professional disciplines.

Since the beginning of 2021, the International Boxing Association (IBA) has delivered more than 200 educational courses, certifying around 4,000 members. The updated and expanded R&J Certification Programmes, delivered in all IBA official languages and, in some cases, in local languages with interpretation support, have provided the organisation with a new cohort of young officials while also strengthening the experience of experiences ones. Through targeted IBA Pro training programmes and close collaboration with the World Boxing Association (WBA), our 3-Star R&Js, ITOs, and Coaches are now able to operate across all areas of boxing, representing IBA world-wide.

The modernized Coaches Certification Programme is now delivered in both formats – in person and online – reaching more regions globally and supporting grassroots education, particularly for those, who may face financial barriers to attending in-person courses abroad.

The ITO and TD Courses have also been revised and expanded and now include an integral practical component and is organise against major competitions, where participants can observe the work of their future colleagues around the Field of Play (FOP), ask questions, and practise on site to gain valuable for this work in-filed experience.

The R&J Evaluator/R&J Instructor and Coaches Instructor Courses have helped the organization significantly expand its cohort of highly experienced boxing professionals who can deliver courses in all IBA official languages worldwide, thereby providing all continents with regional development opportunities at every level.

The Cut Technician Courses now include three modules that provide IBA team members with valuable taping experience from amateur, professional, and bare-knuckle boxing perspective, thereby preparing specialists who can operate across all three areas.

Our continuous collaboration with academia, particularly with the Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economía (ISDE), provides our members, especially National Federation executive members, with opportunities to broaden their horizons by strengthening their knowledge in sports management and governance.

This year, the development journey continues with a comprehensive upcoming training programme for IBA officials, focusing on professional boxing dimensions in light of the new edition of the World Series of Boxing. The programme will be organized in collaboration with our partners, including World Boxing Association (WBA) and Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economía (ISDE).
