ASBC U22 and Youth Asian Boxing Championships preparations well underway

Astana, Kazakhstan is to host the ASBC Men’s and Women’s U22 and Youth Asian Boxing Championships from 27 April – 7 May 2024 at the “Beeline Arena” National Tennis Centre

The Official draw will determine the pairs on 26 April with an Opening Ceremony planned for the next day. Preliminaries and quarterfinals are scheduled for 27-30 April with semi-finals on 1-4 May. The Youth finals are to take place on 6 May and U22 finals is to be held on 7 May.

The registration of the boxers is open until 23 March.   

ASBC President Pichai Chunhavajira welcomed National Federations to join the event, stating ‘This championship stands as a shining beacon of our commitment to promoting gender equality in the sport, emphasising the importance of providing equal opportunities for all within the realm of boxing. We encourage all affiliated National Federations to join us in Astana, for an event that promises to be exhilarating. The event provides a platform for Asian athletes to showcase their talents, forge lasting friendships, and demonstrate the true spirit of sportsmanship.’

President of Kazakhstan Boxing Federation Shakhmurat Mutalip added, ‘The youth and U22 boxers are our future in the sport, and we must take care of them carefully to build up the next generation of Asian stars. The competition is an important step for our youth and U22 boxers in the road of their international boxing career. The competition will be a great opportunity for our young boxers on the road to their international experiences, strength, tactics and meet with boxers from all regions of Asia.’
