AIBA President and the President of the Venezuelan Boxing Federation address the boxers and their teams on Day Three of APB/WSB Olympic Qualification Event

On the occasion of Day Three of the APB/WSB Olympic Qualification Event, AIBA President Dr Ching-Kuo Wu and the President of the Venezuelan Boxing Federation, Mr Fran Lopez, met with the boxers participating in the tournament being held in Vargas, Venezuela between 3-8 July.

In front of assembled boxers and coaches representing more than 20 different countries, the AIBA President outlined his commitment to allowing all boxers to be able to pursue their dreams of competing in an Olympic Games. The role of AIBA is to ensure the long-term development of boxing in all its forms and empower all national federations to register their best boxers.

Mr Fran Lopez reiterated his thanks to AIBA for awarding Venezuela the opportunity to host such a high-profile event that offers a unique opportunity for pro boxers to qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games, and the impact that tournament has already had underlines the great passion for boxing in Venezuela.

In conclusion, the AIBA president congratulated the Venezuela Boxing Federation for their organisation and wished the best to all the boxers involved.
