International Boxing Association (AIBA) President Dr Ching-Kuo Wu attended the Opening Ceremony of the WBSC Premier 12 World Baseball Championships on November 9 in his home country, Chinese Taipei, on behalf of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Dr Thomas Bach. Dr Wu expressed his congratulations to the local organisers, the officials and all the volunteers for all their great work and their warm welcome and wished all the teams and coaches the best of luck for the Championships. He said: “This event is particularly important. It is a unique and wonderful opportunity for you [athletes] to represent your countries.  You will of course compete to achieve the best performance. You will also provide some wonderful sporting and emotional moments to the delight of the spectators in the stadiums and of those watching all over the world”.

The finals of the competition will be held in Tokyo, Japan, November 19-21.
