AIBA newly elected Executive Committee meet for the first time

Following the AIBA Congress, the newly elected members of the AIBA Executive Committee met for the first time on November 4, 2018 in Moscow to discuss about AIBA matters and the future of the international federation.

President Rahimov opened the meeting by welcoming his new Executive Committee. Amongst the various topics discussed, were plans and next steps for implementation on the approved amendments to the AIBA statues passed at the congress, the appointment of the four additional Executive committee members nominated by the President and the confirmation of AIBA’s Executive Director.

Mr. Pasquale Fiacco from Canada, Mr. Di Wu from China, Mr. Alfred Bongo from Gabon, and Mr. Juergen Kyas from Germany have all been confirmed as members and join the AIBA Executive Committee.

AIBA’s Executive Committee has now a total of 27 members, of which 11 new members have been elected at this year’s congress.

The new Executive Committee members further confirmed the position of Mr. Tom Virgets as Executive Director of AIBA, acknowledging the excellent work carried out by Mr. Virgets and the AIBA headquarters offices over the last 10 months.
