AIBA agrees equipment deal with Taishan Sports for all five 2017 Continental Championships

April 23rd, 2017 / IBA

AIBA has confirmed Taishan Sports Equipment will be the official equipment supplier for this year’s five Continental Championships, which for the first time will serve as the sole qualification route for the 2017 AIBA Men’s World Championships in Hamburg. The company will also offer its boxing equipment to all 201 National Federations at a preferred rate, as AIBA continues to provide practical solutions for the AIBA Family at large.

“AIBA is delighted to continue its partnership with a company of the capacity and experience of Taishan for these important Continental Championships. Such a deal provides us with the consistency and quality that these tournaments demand, and by making their equipment more accessible for all of our 201 member federations, the agreement brings further benefits to the AIBA Family as a whole,” said AIBA President Dr Ching-Kuo Wu.

At Rio 2016, Taishan became the largest single equipment supplier in the history of the Olympic Games, and was announced as AIBA’s Innovation Partner at the end of 2016. The company has a proven capacity to service the forthcoming Continental Championships in Congo, Honduras, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Australia between May and June, while the Year of Africa Truck developed in association with the Chinese company will also be stationed outside the African Championship in the Congo capital of Brazzaville.

“With this year’s Continental Championships assuming even greater significance as the qualification route to the AIBA World Championships, equipping all five competitions represents an excellent opportunity for Taishan as we continue to work closely with the AIBA Family for the good of boxing,” said Mr Cui Gang, Chairman of Taishan Sports Equipment.
