The AIBA Executive Committee convened in Moscow on October 31^st to discuss various points, in particular focusing on the continued progress made over the past eight months for the development of boxing. Among the topics addressed were the full financial figures and governance policies, as well as the hosting rights for the 2019 AIBA Women’s World Championships, which were rewarded to the Russian city of Ulan Ude under the condition of submitting additional documents.

In addition the rules regarding protest in AIBA Competitions, the updates on Code of Ethics and the Code on the Prevention of Competition Manipulations were all unanimously approved and adopted. The appointment of AIBA Ethics Commission Member Tatiana Zuevich from Switzerland was also ratified by the Executive Committee members and amendments were made to the medical regulations to ensure the safety and health of boxers. This included an enhanced concussion protocol aimed at the well-being of athletes.

All the members of the Executive Committee were united in carrying these decisions forward and have been pleased by the transparency and openness in which the meeting was carried out.

AIBA Interim President, Gafur Rahimov said, “Over the last few months, together with the AIBA Executive Committee, we have successfully achieved some significant milestones for our beloved sport. I am thankful to all the members of my team for their hard work and dedication. We now have a much healthier, stable and transparent organization. If we stay the course we can do even greater things in the coming years. I am looking forward to the future of AIBA.”
