Following global celebrations for International Boxing Day, IBA Secretary General and CEO Chris Roberts OBE has shared a special message of appreciation, turning the spotlight onto the dedicated staff whose tireless work behind the scenes continues to drive the organisation’s worldwide mission.

Yesterday, the global boxing community came together to celebrate International Boxing Day, recognising the athletes, coaches, officials and National Federations who contribute so much to our sport.

Today, I would like to pause and reflect on another group whose dedication often takes place away from the spotlight: the staff of the International Boxing Association.

As we celebrate the achievements of boxing around the world, it is important to recognise that behind every competition, every development programme, every initiative and every success story stands a team of committed professionals working tirelessly to support our mission. Their efforts may not always be visible, but they are fundamental to everything we achieve as an organisation.

Over recent years, our staff have demonstrated exceptional commitment, professionalism and resilience. Working through challenges, adapting to change, and embracing innovation, they have continued to ensure that IBA serves its members, athletes and stakeholders with integrity and purpose. Their dedication has helped strengthen our global presence, expand opportunities across the sport, and uphold the values that define our organisation.

International Boxing Day reminds us that boxing is built on more than what happens inside the ring. It is built on teamwork, belief, sacrifice and a collective commitment to a common goal. These same qualities are reflected every day by the people who work behind the scenes to make our vision a reality.

On behalf of IBA leadership, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to every member of our staff. Thank you for your hard work, your professionalism, your loyalty and your unwavering belief in the future of our sport. Your contribution is deeply valued, and our successes are a reflection of your efforts.

As we look ahead, let us continue to work together with the same determination, passion and sense of purpose that have brought us this far.
