Chris Roberts OBE, Secretary General and CEO of the International Boxing Association (IBA), made a high-profile appearance at BKB 43, held last night in Farnworth, Bolton. The event, part of the UK’s premier bare-knuckle boxing series, welcomed Roberts as a special guest, where he met with BKB CEO Mr. Greg Bloom.

In a forward-looking discussion, Roberts and Bloom explored a range of opportunities for collaboration and development within the sport. The meeting comes at a pivotal moment, as the IBA has officially launched IBA Bare Knuckle, a new initiative aimed at bringing global structure, recognition, and regulatory oversight to the bare-knuckle discipline.

The action-packed evening featured 11 thrilling bouts, showcasing the grit and determination that defines bare-knuckle boxing. The main event saw USA’s Harry Gigliotti defend his BKB World Super Lightweight title in a hard-fought contest against Kallum Skhane of Wales. After a fierce and tactical battle, Gigliotti retained his championship belt, solidifying his status as one of the world’s top fighters in the sport.

‘This is an exciting time for global combat sports,’ said Chris Roberts OBE. ‘Having the IBA’s support and vision through President Umar Kremlev is a game-changer for the future of bare-knuckle boxing.’

Chris Roberts OBE praised the professionalism and passion evident at BKB 43, noting the alignment between BKB’s grassroots energy and IBA’s commitment to elevating the sport on an international scale.

Further announcements regarding IBA Bare Knuckle and its strategic direction are expected in the coming weeks.
