The stars came out for the 16th session of the Rio 2016 Olympic Boxing Tournament, with a true legend of the sport and former Olympic bronze medalist Floyd Mayweather watching on as Britain’s Joe Joyce and Uzbek Bakhodir Jalolov lit up the afternoon with two big TKO victories in quick succession. Nigeria’s Efe Ajagba then delivered the first KO of the Games with a huge right against Trinidad and Tobago’s Nigel Paul as one of boxing’s biggest names watched on.

Mayweather competed at the Atlanta 1996 Games, before going on to become one of the most in-demand boxers of all time.  Also watching on were the NBA stars of the US Basketball team Kevin Durrant, Anthony Carmelo, Kyrie Irving, DeMarcus Cousins and DeMar DeRozan. Making the most of a break from the Basketball competition at the nearby Olympic Park, the team soaked up the carnival atmosphere inside a packed Riocentro Pavilion 6.
