Mr Gideon Kwarte Quartey, President of the Ghana Amateur Boxing Federation, has passed away in the capital city of Accra at the age of 50. The former Vice-President of the Greater Accra Boxing Association was elected President of Ghana Amateur Boxing Federation in May 2015, and as a longstanding figure in Ghanaian boxing, Mr. Quartey had promoted the spirit and values of the sport throughout the country, helping to develop many of its young talents. Mr Quartey will be greatly missed by all those he worked with.
