Belgrade unveils logo of the 2021 AIBA World Boxing Championships

Less than 55 days until the XXI AIBA Men’s World Boxing Championships Belgrade unveils the logo of the tournament. The event will start with an opening ceremony and official draw on October 24th, finals are scheduled on November 5-6.

The logo consists of a graphic sign representing a boxer, a national pattern and a font composition. It uses graphic images of buildings that are landmarks and recognizable symbols of the host country. The logo is also based on the stylized national pattern of Serbia, which has become a universal stylistic element. The colors used are the national colors of the Serbian flag.

AIBA President Mr. Umar Kremlev stressed the importance of the event in Belgrade.

‘This is the main tournament in our calendar for the year 2021. Therefore, we are ready to celebrate the sport of boxing with amazing fights, the emotions of the participants and the attention of a global audience. It’s a great honor for each and every athlete to show their best when the whole world is watching,’ he claimed.

AIBA Secretary General, two-time AIBA World champion Mr. István Kovács said:

‘Being an athlete, I paid special attention to my preparation for the World Championships. It’s a great tournament and I would like to wish the best of luck to the local organizing committee to conduct a successful competition for the sake of our boxers. I am happy to see that the preparations are going well so far.’

President of the Serbian Boxing Federation Mr. Nenad Borovčanin claimed that Serbia will do its best to deliver an unforgettable event.

‘We wanted to create a strong brand of our championships because we are very proud to be the hosts. This logo shows our national motives and our hospitable soul. The best athletes all around the globe will fight for this prestigious title. We want to create the best conditions for them, so they can achieve their goals,’ Mr. Borovčanin said.

Belgrade has already hosted AIBA World Championships in 1978 after the first edition held in 1974 in Havana, Cuba.
