AIBA Commissions convene in Sofia

The Bulgarian Boxing Federation welcomed a delegation of over 45 members of the AIBA Coaches, Technical & Rules, Refereeing & Judging, Medical and Women’s Commissions as well as three AIBA Vice-Presidents. During the two days of meetings, various topics were covered including the progress and latest developments of the International Boxing Association.

With their collective expertise across all areas of boxing, the AIBA Commissions continued to plan key developments for the sport with the focus placed firmly on the recently launched New Foundation Plan and the upcoming Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

“The 2018 AIBA Commission meetings leave us confident that AIBA is now on the right path towards a bright future, by establishing a strong base with key elements of our New Foundation Plan already in place we are moving both our sport and our organization forward. While we have already succeeded in achieving quite some milestones, the two-day meeting with the AIBA Commissions has identified key elements that we as an organistaion will continue to address in order to keep developing our sport on all levels. This is an exciting time for our sport.” said AIBA Interim President, Mr. Gafur Rahimov.
