This 2018 is a crucial year for the next generation of boxing champions with the Youth Continental, World and Olympic titles at stake. The road to the glory for the legends of tomorrow kicks off with the Youth Continental Championships that will serve as qualification events for the upcoming Youth Women’s & Men’s World Championships.

The Continental action starts in Italy, on April 18, to then move to the remaining four continents across two intense months of boxing with Thailand, Morocco, USA and Samoa hosting the events.

The Italian city of Roseto degli Abruzzi, will see a record number of 358 men & women boxers from 40 countries competing during 8 days for the Continental glory as well as their ticket to the World Championships.

On the women’s side, a total of 52 quotas will be allocated in between 130 athletes. Russia’s 2017 Youth World champion Anastasia Shamonova (75kg), Two-time EUBC European Women’s Junior Champion Caroline Dubois (60kg) and the local Martina La Piana (51kg) will be among the title contenders in Roseto degli Abruzzi.

The men’s draws will see 228 athletes from 40 countries competing for the 70 World Championships quotas allocated to Europe and aiming to follow the footmarks of some previous gold medalists at the event who have become some of the most recognizable names in the boxing history like Wladimir Klistchko (EUBC Youth champion in 1993) and two-time Olympic champion Oleg Saitov (EUBC Youth champion in 1992).

  Dates: May 19 to 27
  Host city: Colorado Springs, USA
  World Championships quota allocation:
  Men’s – 50 quotas
  Women’s – 32 quotas

• OCBC Youth Continental Championships
  Dates: May 29 to June 2
  Host city: Apia, Samoa
  World Championships quota allocation:
  Men’s – 10 quotas
  Women’s – 10 quotas
